What Your Taco Bell Order Says About You (Based on Our Office Orders)

They say you can tell a lot about a person based on their Taco Bell order. Well, maybe they don’t. But they should! We believe that our food orders around the office are windows into the soul and personality like no other, and Taco Bell is the restaurant that offers the clearest view into who a person is.

We love a good Taco Bell lunch day in our office, and most of us have our go-to orders that we can’t resist. And, like we’ve said, we think each of those orders offers a little insight into who we are and what we value. Some of us play it safe with simple orders, some of us are more experimental, and others are a mix of both.

To show you what we mean, let’s walk through some of our staple Taco Bell orders and break down what type of person we think they appeal to.

1. Cheese Quesadilla (Brady)

Brady is our team copywriter, and the person responsible for everything in this blog. Does that mean I went easier on myself than I did everyone else? Maybe. But let’s just call it a perk of the job.

This Taco Bell order means you like to keep things basic, and there’s nothing wrong with that! Others might call you a picky eater, and while that might be (is) true, that’s a slight you’ve learned to embrace by now. Plus, when you spend minutes lost in the nitty-gritty details of a complex food menu, you don’t have time to focus on the big picture. Stick to the essentials when it comes to lunch, and use the time you saved debating trivial matters like “What kind of meat am I in the mood for?” or “What toppings should go in this taco?” to take care of important business.

You’re a person of simple tastes and pleasures, which means you find joy in the little things in a way thrill-seekers who need extravagance in their lives just can’t anymore. Fuel yourself on the happiness of the commodities you’ll find in everyday life, and don’t ever let anyone question your judgment.

2. Crunchwrap SUPREME and a Bean Burrito (Cat)

Cat’s go-to order is the Crunchwrap Supreme, though it’s not quite her favorite ALL-TIME item on the Taco Bell menu. That would be the grilled stuffed burrito from days of yore (when, as all creatives have, Cat worked at Taco Bell), but the Crunchwrap Supreme comes with the essential perk of being the most food you can hold in one hand without making a mess, which is essential for our always-busy Creative Director. Without the time to stop and sit down for a meal, the Crunchwrap Supreme lets her eat with one hand and get back to work with the other.

If you get this order, it means you like to live on the edge every chance you get, but that doesn’t mean you’re careless. You understand that you’re not living a full life unless you live it as supremely as possible, but you also know that you can’t leave your foot on the gas without your hand over the emergency brake in case things don’t go your way.

That’s why your food order is so fun, so thrilling, and just in case it goes poorly, attached to something so safe and timeless. You have your Crunchwrap Supreme for something fun and flavorful, and a simple bean burrito for something you can count on. Your existence is a perfect balance between electric and perfectly mapped out, and you should be proud of yourself.

3. Beefy Five Layer Burrito (Grilled) and a Sweet Tea (Morgan)

Morgan’s drink order speaks to her sweet tooth. If she can bring a little extra sugar to a standard lunch order, she’s going to take that opportunity.

If you gravitate to this Taco Bell order, it means you don’t care if your meal is a little bit fancier than everyone else’s. You know what you’re about, and you don’t have any qualms about getting it. If that means drinking sweet tea instead of soda or getting a grilled beefy five-layer burrito over a standard one, then so be it.

There’s a level of determination, go-getter attitude, and I-can’t-be-bothered sensibility in your go-to order that we can’t help but appreciate. You think outside the box and use your creativity to get things done. You zag when the crowd is zigging, and we respect your conviction.

4. Green Sauce (Grace)

Our designer Grace doesn’t need a standard Taco Bell Order like the rest of us because she plans out her day and meals before getting to work. That’s what happens when you start your day at 6:30 and don’t even need to be in the office until 10:00; you get time to work out, get your makeup just right, and prepare the picture-perfect breakfast and lunch.

There is no right or wrong way to live life, but if there ever were, you’re on the side we all want to be on but can’t commit to if you gravitate toward this order the most. You don’t need a go-to Taco Bell order because you already have your lunch planned out for the week. You probably have every one of your meals planned out for the week. And as a matter of fact, you probably have everything in your life planned out for the week, don’t you? You’re not too fancy for Taco Bell necessarily, but when you work so hard to map out your day, you don’t want to let it go to waste.

You’re on a satisfying schedule that takes care of all your needs but might leave some of your wants unanswered. But the creative planner that you are, you see Taco Bell Day at the office as a way to inject some flair into your routine. Use your green sauce on your pre-prepped meals to turn your staple lunch into something a little more fun.

Don’t let anyone get you down for not being part of the lunch order club. You’re living your life to the max and don’t need any extra excitement other than the kick from a little green sauce.

5. Soft Beef Taco (Caely)

Like Cat, Caely’s standard Taco Bell order is built around her busy schedule. The soft beef taco is quick and easy to eat and doesn’t leave behind a mess that Caely won’t have the time (or desire) to clean up anyway. Caely also appreciates the finer things in life, even if those things are from Taco Bell. It’s no wonder her office comes equipped with a tea set and matching lace.

If this is your order, it means that just because you’re a fast food fan doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate the finer things in life. In fact, you might even see a Taco Bell lunch as a challenge to fancify your food as much as possible to match your appreciation for elegance. It might be hard to find anything dainty and elegant on the Taco Bell menu, but you’re trying your hardest with the soft beef taco.

You have a soft personality and deserve a soft meal to match, and the soft beef taco is as soft as they come. You don’t need anything crunchy or hard getting in the way of who you are, so keep embracing that softness!

But you know better than anyone that the best part of the soft beef taco is how it doesn’t leave behind a mess. We all know that you’re busy enough as is, and take care of enough business throughout the day. You don’t need the extra exhaustion of cleaning up after a messy lunch when you have so many other messes to tend to.

6. Bean Burrito and Any Combo That Comes With a Baja Blast (Jo)

Jo is the boss keeping our whole operation afloat and on course. Jo doesn’t have a designated desk in the office because she doesn’t need one. When you’re this busy during the work day, it’s much easier to float around with your laptop helping with projects as needed than to stay in one spot like the rest of us.

If you identify with Jo’s order, you want to know why a little bit of chaos is a bad thing. Who says you have to play by the rules and know what you’re ordering before you order it? Sure, you also get a standard bean burrito for the security of having something simple to eat, but it's more valuable to you to keep things fresh and fun with the bulk of your meal than to order something safe. That’s why you embrace chaos at every turn and just ask for any combo meal that comes with a Baja Blast, regardless of what’s in it.

But just because you like to roll the dice any chance you get doesn’t mean you don’t have core values. You realize that you don’t have to sweat the small stuff if you still have the things that matter in your life. In this case, those things that matter are a bean burrito you can count on and a Baja Blast that keeps you awake. As long as you have them to go home to at the end of the day, none of the other details matter. Order whatever other food you want, because if all else fails, you still have what truly counts.

7. Crunchy Taco once a year, only on road trips (Logan)

Logan doesn’t have a desk in our office because she’s too busy adventuring around Oregon. Her standard Taco Bell order speaks to that wanderlust too. She doesn’t typically have time for fast food when she’s out and about trying as many new restaurants as possible, but when she does pull into a drive-thru in the middle of a road trip, she wants something classic and easy to eat in a car.

You’re a billion different things if this is your Taco Bell order, but above them all, you’re an adventurer. You want to experience as much of the world as possible, you want to see as many sights as you can, and you want to taste as many treats as you can get your hands on. That’s why you don’t frequent any fast food restaurants; you’re too busy trying new things to stop somewhere so familiar.

But even the wanderiest of wanderers can’t resist the allure of Taco Bell forever. And even if it’s rare, you do have a go-to order you’re ready to bust out when necessary. But only if you’re on your latest adventure and just need something to eat you know you can trust to fuel you to your next destination. The crunchy taco is simple, reliable, tasty, and above all, the crunch matches your granola girl aesthetic.
